As part of my Sweat Pink Ambassadorship, I was given the opportunity to try the Vega Sport Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Bar.

For those unfamiliar with Vega, they make plant-based vegan protein products.  Their sport line includes gels, shakes, and bars.  Because I am particular with gels and shakes in general, I chose to review their recovery Protein Bar.

Vega sent me a box of their Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Bar. Ummmm Chocolate and Peanut Butter? Yes please!

Here is a little nutritional overview of the non-GMP, gluten-free product:

  • 15 g complete, multisource, plant-based protein
  • 2.5 g BCAAs
  • 2 g glutamine
  • 1 g Omega-3

The past two weeks was hectic for me work-wise, which left little time for working out.  The bars were a great source of protein for me.  Even though I was in the office – I was on my feet for most of that time and expending a lot of energy.  Vega said it best, it was a #workmarathon.

I also had a chance to use the Vega Protein Bar following the Brooklyn Half Marathon.  I thought it was good recovery option post 13.1 miles.  I never had any stomach issues after eating the bars.

I was very happy with the Vega Sport protein bars – they are easy to pack when you are on the go or traveling.   They are  tasty and I look forward to try their other flavors – Chocolate Coconut and Chocolate Mint as I begin my marathon training.

Have you tried Vega Sport’s Protein Bars?

Note: I received the Vega Sport Protein Bars in exchange for sharing my opinion. All thoughts and opinions on the blog are my own.
