Hola hola! Last week was a good week, even though I did not fit in all my runs in (I was aiming for 3, ran 2).  I'm going to be stricter about my workouts in the next few weeks. I'm publishing this a little late, so I'll link up with everyone next week.   Monday 5/8 - Rest Day  Sore from the weekend. Particularly my calves/shins.  Tuesday 5/9 - Rest Day  Same as above.  Wednesday 5/10 - Rest Day  This…

Weekly Workout/Training in Review 4/24-4/30

Hello! I am back in DC after a quick trip to the Aloha State.  Cliff had a work trip, so I tagged along and teleworked for the week (air mileage points for the win).  I worked my same east coast hours, which meant I was up from 2:30AM-11:00AM Hawaiian Time.  That left me a half a day to explore Waikiki/Honolulu (I usually went to bed around 7:00PM-8:00PM).  I'm writing this post a little late, so I missed the linkups. I'll rejoin them next…

Weekly Workout/Training in Review 4/17-4/23

Happy Monday! First, congrats to my high school elementary school buddy Tricia on her BQ at the Coastal Delaware Marathon! Second, congrats to Jackie on her win at the GW Parkway Classic 5K.  They are both a great source of motivation.  Speaking of inspiring, did anyone watch the London Marathon this past weekend?  Monday 4/17 - Rest Day  Not running related, but have you guys ever used Amazon Locker? I have one close to work so I send packages here to avoid package theft #citylife.…

2016 St. Jude Memphis Half Marathon Race Recap

The 2016 St. Jude Memphis Memphis Half Marathon  has been on my running bucket list ever since my friend Gerri introduced it to me (Gerri and her sister Becca attended college in Memphis) .  The proceeds from the race + St. Judes Hero fundraiser go to the hospital.   Source: St. Jude Memphis Memphis Half Marathon The half marathon sells out quickly, so I made sure to sign up when registration opened in June.  My friend Emily and her co-worker/friend Olamide also signed up for the…

Weekly Workout/Training in Review 4/10-4/16

Hi everyone! I am back with my Weekly Workout/Training in Review posts now that my foot is finally feeling better and have been able to run consistently the past couple of weeks.  January-March brought a cold, an achy foot (re-injured it in Bermuda - more on that in my Bermuda recap post), and walking pneumonia (had no idea that existed).  I'm ready to get back at it, but it feels like I am starting all over again (I'm about 3-4 minutes/mile slower from a…

Year in Review – 2016 Running by the Numbers

A double post for the last day of the year (again)!  If you have been following my Running by the Numbers posts the past few years (2013, 2014, 2015) I introduced an infographic last year to highlight my year in running.  I decided to do the same for 2016! (my poor poor Excel spreadsheet, it will be revived one day).  I am also linking up with Courtney for the Year of Running 2016.   If I were to choose one word to…

2016 Berlin Marathon Expo + Good News + Spectating

This year the Berlin Marathon Expo also known as the Expo BERLIN VITAL was held at the Station de Berlin.  In previous years the expo was located at an old airport hanger (which looked so cool). I am not sure why they changed the location, but Station de Berlin is much closer to the city center.  Here is an excerpt from their website for a little history 101:  The history of STATION-Berlin begins around the same time as the birth of…

Before the Fall – My 2016 Berlin Marathon Countdown

Editor's Note: Hello everyone! Hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving with your friends and family.  The 2017 Berlin Marathon lottery results will be announced over the next two days, how exciting! I thought it would be a good time to share my 2016 Berlin Marathon Countdown post that I prepared before the marathon.  I was planning on sharing it before our flight to Germany, but we all know what happened the night before.  I have some fun posts lined up (foot update,…
