Tasty Thursday: Vega Sport Protein Bar Review

May 29, 2014 As part of my Sweat Pink Ambassadorship, I was given the opportunity to try the Vega Sport Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Bar. Image: Fuel Your Better For those unfamiliar with Vega, they make plant-based vegan protein products.  Their sport line includes gels, shakes, and bars.  Because I am particular with gels and shakes in general, I chose to review their recovery Protein Bar. Vega sent me a box of their Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Bar. Ummmm Chocolate…

2014 NYRR Brooklyn Half Marathon Race Recap

May 27, 2014 10 days ago I ran my 15th half marathon (I realized I’ve been miscounting my half total the entire year - oops) and 10th race of the year. The Brooklyn Half Marathon is a New York Road Runners (NYRR) event - the same organization that runs the New York City Marathon.  While this was not my fastest half, it was certainly memorable!  Packet Pickup/Expo The Brooklyn Half Pre-Party was open to runner’s the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday…

Weekly Workout/Training in Review 5/11-5/24

May 26, 2014 Happy Memorial Day!  Thanks to those who served our country.  I hope everyone is enjoying their long weekend, whether it be away, at home, or at the pool!  I definitely needed this long weekend!! As you may have noticed - it was pretty quiet on the blogging + tweeting + commenting front.  In the past two weeks I worked insane hours (150 + nearing project completion) - which left little time for sleeping or writing.   Because more…

Sunday 5/4 - Rest day Monday 5/5 - Rest day Tuesday 5/6 - Rest day Wednesday 5/7 - Rest day Thursday 5/8 - Rest day Friday 5/9 - 1 mile…

Weekly Workout/Training in Review 4/27-5/3

May 5, 2014 This past week I battled a cold.  After a lovely Saturday, I woke up the next morning with a sore throat and congestion.  I had a nice brunch with my college roommate and a chance to catch up with one of my good friends from business school - by the end of the day I was exhausted and achy.  Although I had planned to increase my mileage this week, I knew it was better to rest (a…

Friday Five – Tips for Running in the Rain

April 25, 2014 "Raindrops keep fallin’ on my head" - BJ Thomas As you may recall, I ran the LOVE Run Philadelphia Half Marathon about a month ago.  It rained the entire race (a record breaking 3 inches) and it was definitely a learning experience!  Below is one of my free race photos from that day (yeah I am that watch girl). Prior to the race I did a quick Google search and tweet for running in the rain advice.…
