2015 Philadelphia Love Run Half Marathon Recap

Last year I ran the Inaugural Philadelphia Love Run Half Marathon. Image: Philadelphia Love Run Half Marathon Despite the torrential downpour, I had a strong race and PR'd by 2 minutes (probably fueled by coldness...I am not going to lie..there were tears of "why am I running in the rain/cold").  On August 22nd CGI Racing (the lovely team behind The Love Run) opened registration with a discounted price.  If you signed up that day you were entered to win a…

Monthly Goals – April 2015

March was a great month! While I did not meet all my goals, I am feeling much better and fitter compared to February. Today I am going to recap my March goals and share my April goals.  1. Run/Walk/Elliptical 75 miles I ended the month with 79.57 miles (I know...I know....I should have run .43 more miles for the pretty 80).  It was the first time I met my mileage goal since I started sharing my monthly goals in December.  2. Strength Train…

Marine Corps Marathon-Second Chance Registration!

Less than a week ago I received an email from the Marine Corps organization informing me I was not selected for the 40th running of the marathon (thank you for all your comments and to friends who offered to find a bib).  This morning I was checking my email when I saw this:   In case the image is too small, "The sport of running could define your circumstance as a 'false start.'  At the Marine Corps Marathon, let's just consider…

2015 Shamrock Half Marathon Race Recap Part 2

Missed Part 1? 2015 Shamrock 8K Race Recap.  It has been fun reading everyone's recap/account of the weekend through the linkup. The 8K was held on the most beautiful Saturday.  The post race festival/tent was on the beach and temperatures were in the 60s by the afternoon.  Below is the King Neptune statue basking in the sun (random....I always think of King Triton from the Little Mermaid whenever I passed the statue). Following the race I headed back to the…

March Madness-Marine Corps Marathon-Lottery #2

A couple of weeks ago the Marine Corps opened their lottery for the 40th running of the marathon (it is going to be special, for sure), and I submitted my name.  I've already entered the Chicago Marathon lottery (selection status will be emailed on April 28, 2015).  Today the MCM announced our selection status and I was sent this email: Womp womp.  While I wait for Chicago, I'll start looking into other fall marathons, just in case (or explore the…

2015 Shamrock 8K Race Recap Part 1

Eight months ago I signed up for the Shamrock Dolphin Challenge. In August I learned I was a member of the 2014-2015 J&A Ambassador Team - which made me even more excited to run Shamrock, one of their marquee events!  Over the next couple of months I learned several of my friends/fellow bloggers would also be in attendance - it was going to be a fun weekend.  Traveling I am a packer procrastinator extraordinaire - I tend to pack early…
