September 29, 2014
And just like that September is nearly over! November is right around the corner and this Wednesday marks 1 month until the Marathon.
Monday 9/22 – 5 miles
Tuesday 9/23 – 1 mile easy + 60 minutes training
Wednesday 9/24 – 1 mile easy / Rest day
Thursday 9/25 – 2 miles + 60 minutes training
Friday 9/26 – 5 miles
Saturday 9/27 – 10 miles
Sunday 9/28 – Potomac River Running Perfect 10K
Total: 30.2 miles
This week was pretty great mileage-wise, however the legs have been feeling a bit tight. Originally I planned to run my 16 miler on Saturday and the PRR Perfect 10K as a super easy run on Sunday; however, due to some scheduling constraints (and a reality check) I decided to split my long run between those 2 days. The 10K was the highlight of the week – recap coming tomorrow.
This weekend was packed, but very fun. I celebrated my cousin’s 3rd birthday with family. It was Daniel the Tiger themed and his parents (my cousins Steph and Chris) did a great job with the decorations.
And visited the U.S National Arboretum – a little oasis tucked away in the Northeast corner of DC. There were a few runners out in about using the paths and paved roads, I wouldn’t mind going for a run there in the future (plus it is free).
Have you ever split up a long run across 2 days?
Have you been to the U.S National Arboretum? Have one near you?
