July 7, 2014
Hope everyone had a good holiday weekend – it sure went by quickly! Although I stayed in town, it was pretty eventful and ended with a lovely relaxing Sunday 🙂
View in front of the Capitol Building in Washington, DC.
Monday 6/30 – Rest day
Tuesday 7/1 – 3 miles elliptical + 60 minutes personal training
Wednesday 7/2 – 2 mile walk
Thursday 7/3 – 2 mile run (intervals) + 1 mile cooldown
Friday 7/4 – 1/2 mile warm up + Firecracker 5K
Saturday 7/5 – 4 miles
Sunday 7/6 – Rest day
Total: 15.6 miles
Training-wise I spread out my mileage and had an increase from the previous week. I really enjoyed my 2 mile interval run this past Thursday – I haven’t really done any speed work in awhile. I did not get a longish run in (over 60 minutes of running) – it will be waiting for me next week. Friday morning I ran Potomac River Running’s Firecracker 5K in Reston, VA (recap tomorrow….sneak peak: a PR)
Saturday morning I went for a run along Pennsylvania Avenue towards the Capitol Building. I also took a little detour by the Botanic Gardens – I still need to take a proper visit as the inside was not open yet.
Of course…. followed by brunch…mmmmm.
My cousins’ baby shower.
Then to the 9:30 club for the White Ford Bronco – such a fun 90s cover band.
