Hello from Boston (currently in transit to DC)! I will be posting a race recap of the B.A.A 10K tomorrow! You may notice a few cosmetic changes to my weekly training log:
- New header – NYC Marathon Training officially began last week!
- New dates – Will recap Mon-Sun to mirror the training schedule
Monday 6/16 – Rest day
Tuesday 6/17 – 1 mile run + 60 minute training session + 3 mile run/1 mile walk
Wednesday 6/18 – Rest day
Thursday 6/19 – 1/2 mile run + 60 minute training session
Friday 6/20 – 60 minute training session + 1 mile elliptical
Saturday 6/21 – 4 mile run
Sunday 6/22 – B.A.A 10K
Total: 16.7 miles
My total mileage mirrors my numbers for the month of April (I was running and racing consistently each week). As for Week 1 marathon training, our homework was to run at least 3-5 times this week (track workout was optional). I missed our group run this weekend because I was in Boston – but the time spent running/mileage was right on par with the schedule.
Last week I mentioned that my hip flexor was still giving me some pain; I am happy to report that it is feeling much better now (knock on wood). Non-running wise I had an eventful week! My friend hosted a “100 day celebration” for her daughter – a Korean tradition.
I attended a swim meet/celebration for the team I use to coach during my high school/college years. Happy 50th Anniversary TW (they were also victorious that day).
I went to Boston and ran (really?) 🙂
How was your weekend?
Did you beat the heat? (so many great tips from last week’s #Fridayfive hosted by Cynthia, Courtney and Mar)
