This year I had a guaranteed entry to the 2013 ING New York City Marathon. I was denied entry (they have a lottery system) in 2010, 2011, and 2012 thus making me eligible for an automatic entry in 2013 (I believe 2014 will the last year guaranteed entry will take place). I was excited to train and finally run the Big Apple!
In April I had the opportunity to join an amazing new project team that would require travel for 4 months. Initially I thought I would be able to stick to a training plan, but returning home on Saturdays and leaving on Sundays after 70-80 hours of work-left little time for long runs.
Today I officially deferred my entry to the 2014 TCS New York City Marathon. TCS Marathon? In case you have not heard, Tata Consulting Services (part of a HUGE conglomerate) will be the new sponsor.
