March was a great month! While I did not meet all my goals, I am feeling much better and fitter compared to February. Today I am going to recap my March goals and share my April goals.
1. Run/Walk/Elliptical 75 miles
I ended the month with 79.57 miles (I know…I know….I should have run .43 more miles for the pretty 80). It was the first time I met my mileage goal since I started sharing my monthly goals in December.
2. Strength Train 2x/week
I strength trained 5 times this month for an hour each. Two sessions were canceled due to illness and snow, I know next month I will be back to my 2x/week average.
3. Yoga/Barre 2x/week
Unfortunately I did not hit this goal – I see more yoga in my future.
4. Plank 2x/day
I was pretty inconsistent this month with this goal. Planks are funny – one day :30 seconds feels like torture and 1:30 can feel easy.
5. Exercise at least 30 minutes/day
I had much more success during December’s #Turkey2Bubbly challenge – I think the small group concept was very motivating. This month there were rest days and sick days, which my body needed for recovery.
1. Run/Walk/Elliptical 80 miles
I think April will be the month I reach 80 miles (I was soooo close this month). The last time I ran/walked/elliptical-ed 80 was in October. This month I would also like to incorporate more hill and speed work as I train for the St. Michaels Half Marathon in May.
2. Strength Train 2x/week
I have 10 sessions scheduled for this month.
3. Yoga/Barre 2x/week
This will be a priority for me this month as I increase my mileage. I like attending yoga to stretch out the muscles.
4. Plank 2x/day
One of my 2015 goals is to hold a plank for 2:00. I am so close…15 seconds away. I know this will help me reach it.
5. Swim 1x/week
The swimming goal has returned with good reason. There are four months until the Quantico Tri and I need to get back into swim shape. Luckily I am a swimmer, but I have not swum laps in a few years.
How did you do this month?
Do you have any new goals for April?

April 1, 2015Yay for reaching your mileage goal for March! For April, I think I may try a push-up challenge. My upper body is so weak!

April 2, 2015Way to go on your March goals and getting so close to 80 miles!
Do you vary up your planking? Each week I usually go for couple short planks and then one long plank (sort of like a few short runs and one long run, haha). Right now I’m mostly doing two days of 5 x 1 minute planks and then 1 day where I go for a 2+ minute plank.

April 2, 2015Great goals! And awesome job on almost hitting 80 miles last month! I definitely need to increase my monthly mileage – that’s one of my goals. I’m considering adding a running log to the blog. I feel like it’ll help keep me accountable. Other goal is to actually blog more! Haha

April 2, 2015An, you were so close to 80 miles in March! But I think you’ll definitely hit it in April. I am a big convert of training on hills. I think it’s really made me so much stronger this training cycle. Here’s to a great April!
