February came and went, I cannot believe it is already March. Today I am joining Holly from HoHo Runs and Tricia from MissSippiPiddlin for the Weekly Wrap. While I was on my little hiatus, I kept drafts of my training recaps, but never hit publish since they were unfinished (note form, not all pics uploaded). My Gate River Run 15K Training Week 3-9 posts are now live (separate posts).

Monday 2/29 – Rest Day
Worked late.
Tuesday 3/1 – Rest Day
Worked late.
Wednesday 3/2 – Rest Day
Another long day, but I did take a break and visited the Wonder Exhibit at the Renwick Gallery.
You have probably seen dozens of pictures of the exhibit on Instagram. Here is an article from the Washington Post “The Renwick is suddently Instagram famous. But what about the art?”
Stalagmites of index cards.
Bug art – interesting!
Thursday 3/3 – 5 miles | 12:19 min/mile
Average 12:19 min/mile (12:38 , 12:15 , 12:23 , 12:05 , 12:18) for 5 miles followed by 10 x 100 meter strides. One word: Heavy.
Friday 3/4 – 6 miles | 12:01 min/mile + 45 minutes cycling
What what morning progression run. Average 12:01 min/mile (12:43, 12:25, 12:18, 11:57, 11:38, 11:06). Glad I was able to negative split it, but was bummed I did not get into the 10:30-11:00 – there is always next time. I was getting out of breath towards the end.
Later in the evening I met my friend Emily for a 45 minute Janet vs. Michael Jackson FlyWheel class. We went to elementary/middle school with the instructor (Jackie) so it was fun to catch up with her and her sister. Post spin noms, sushi!
Saturday 3/5 – 4 miles | 12:35 min/mile
For some reason I got up insanely early (6:00 AM) for a non-summer month and was ready to run. I went on my easy 4 mile run in my neighborhood average 12:35 min/mile (12:40 , 12:38 , 12:47 , 12:40).
Sunday 3/6 – 3.8 miles | 12:17 min/mile
I had 10 miles schedule for today. Since I was signed up for the St. Pats Day Double the plan was to run .7 miles as warm up + 5K + 10K. I woke up that morning with some lady stomach cramps, but figured running would help (it usually does). Long story short (it will go in the recap) I finished the 5K, but my stomach was aching the entire time. I opted out of the 10K and went home…bummer since the weather was perfect!
Watch shot! Average 12:17min/mile (12:01, 12:18, 12:34). Note – don’t worry the 235 screen does not have a cloudy appearance. I purchased a screen protector and I could not push out all the air bubbles.
The remainder of the day was spent watching the new season of House of Cards with Cliff.
Weekly Total: 18.8 miles | 4 Runs
Year to Date: 160.76 miles | 32 Runs

March 9, 2016Hope you get to visit! I think they close one of the floors in May and the other in June.
Kathryn @ Dancing to Running
March 8, 2016What a bummer that you had to head home after the 5k on Sunday. I know how much you were looking forward to running St. Pat’s this year after the miserable weather that we had for last year’s race.

March 9, 2016I know! It would have been fun to see if I improved from last year (since I fell apart during the 10K hehe). Hopefully third times the charm in 2017 🙂
Jennifer @ Dashing in Style
March 8, 2016That exhibit looks awesome! We just started watching the new season of House of Cards too (or, the old season…whichever just dropped on Netflix!) Hope you’ve been able to relax after all those late nights at work!

March 9, 2016Haha yes the new one just dropped! The exhibit was very creative and they even had a room by Maya Lin – who designed the Vietnam Memorial.

March 8, 2016Great week of training and I loved seeing your pics on Insta! I haven’t been to any museums lately but I’m dying to go see a special dinosaur exhibit at the Milwaukee Public Museum. I’ll have to schedule it in one of these weekends 🙂

March 8, 2016The Renwick gallery looks pretty cool! We went to the San Jose Art Museum on Sunday and thought it was pretty nice and even the kiddos thought it was neat. Sorry to hear about the stomach cramps.

March 8, 2016Hi,Jennifer! I’ve missed you. I had to do a double take and look for the bugs. I’m very impressed with that. I’m sorry you had to opt out of your Sunday 10k. I hope you are feeling better now. We went into some art galleries during our recent visit to New Orleans but it’s been a while since I’ve visited a museum. I didn’t know you could buy a protector for your Garmin screen. Thanks for the tip and for linking with us.

March 9, 2016The entire room was covered with it! I am feeling off and on this week, but much better than Sunday. It must have been nice visiting the galleries in NOLA.
Tricia @ MissSippipiddlin
March 9, 2016Wow the gallery does look interesting! I hate you had some problems with your race, I hate when that happens. Glad your back and great job on keeping up with what you’ve done!

March 9, 2016Thank you Tricia! First time it has happened to me at a race, so I guess I can’t be too bummed.
