Hellllo Friday…..great to see you again! This weekend is full of activities and I am excited for each one of them. Today I am linking up with Mar, Courtney, and Cynthia and the theme is Trips. Since I like to combine vacation + running, I thought I would share Five Trips/Racecations I Would Like to Take.
1. Paris
Image: Paris Convention and Visitors Bureau
Last year I missed a family trip to Paris, so I would love love love to visit this city and run the Paris Marathon one day (good luck to Sue this weekend). Donnez-moi tous les croissants, s’il vous plait (give me all the croissants, please). Note: Registration for the 40th Paris Marathon opens on April 15th π
2. Big Sur/Carmel/Monterey
Following grad school I had a little fun-employment before work began. My friend Jenn and I flew into San Francisco and took road trip to San Diego where we celebrated our friend’s bachelorette. We drove along the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH)…. amazing views of Big Sur. It would be fun to go back and run the Big Sur Marathon or the Big Sur Half Marathon.
3. Portland
Image: Travel Portland
I am very fond of the Pacific Northwest after trips to Seattle and Vancouver – the people, the food (of course), the vibe, and the scenery…so Portland had to make the list. Another plus? My good friends from b-school moved there almost a 1.5 years ago – it would be so nice to see them and also see their adorable son! I’m thinking maybe the Portland Marathon or Eugene Half Marathon in the future.
4. Savannah
Image: Visit Tybee Island
After visiting the charming Charleston, South Carolina this past winter I immediately added Savannah, Georgia to my run/travel list. The Publix Savannah Half Marathon is a strong contender.
5. Tokyo
Image: Go Tokyo
Konnichiwa, Japan! Lights + sushi + history + so much more! I wish the Tokyo Marathon coincided with the blooming of their cherry blossoms. Speaking of cherry blossoms…good luck to everyone running this weekend!
Which city is on top of your travel wish list? (running or no running)
Have you been to any of the cities listed above?

Paris is at the top of my list!

April 10, 2015I’ll run Big Sur with you Jenny! I want to do it so bad. We drove the PCH for our honeymoon, and ever since, I’ve wanted to do that race. So spectacular. I’d totally do it, but it would take me 6 hours with all those hills. This FL girl aint too great with hills.

Abby @ BackAtSquareZero
April 12, 2015I hiked Big Sur. My grandma lives near there, and would love to run it.
I am going down to Sav for the half again in Nov. this year. If you ever decide you want to run Sav and want a roommate let me know. I am all about sharing rooms to save money.

Run Jenny Run
April 13, 2015So nice you hiked Big Sur, Jenn from Running on Lentils mentioned the same thing. Oooh RnR Savannah would have been fun, but just checked the dates and its 2 weeks following MCM (usually that would not preclude me from running a half, but have some travel earlier in October).
Kelli
April 12, 2015Nice list! I spent some time in the Pacific Northwest and really enjoyed it. Would love to go back. I also love Ireland. My husband and I spent a week touring the west coast of Ireland with no specific plans – just stopped at various B&Bs and took their advise on places to go and things to do. We ended up climbing Carauntoohill, the highest peak in Ireland.
Run Jenny Run
April 13, 2015Ireland must have been spectacular. I know that is #1 on my bfs vacation list. I liked that you had no specific plans.

April 15, 2015The marathon in Prague is #1 on my running-travel list!
