June 20, 2014
Happy Happy Friday! We are half way through 2014 and of course I am drafting my 2015 running schedule! It feels like yesterday when I shared my 2014 schedule. As I begin the planning process I thought I would share Five DC Bucket List Races (start, runs through, and/or finishes in DC proper). In no particular order:
1. Lawyers Have Hearts 10K
This has been on my bucket list for some time now. The course begins/ends in Georgetown, there is also a 5K option. After reading this year’s recaps by Chaitali and Coco I think this will be on my schedule for next year (I hope there is good weather for it).

2. Navy Air Force Half Marathon
I’ve run the 5 miler before, but I would like to run the half. The course is def PR favorable!

3. Jingle All the Way 8K
A Pacer’s organized race, this is fun and festive! I ran their St. Paddy’s Day 8K this past March.
4. Georgetown 10 Miler
A small March race organized by DC Running Club. It starts in Georgetown (really?) and follows the Capital Crescent Trail.
5. Nations Tri (Sprint Distance)
What? A triathlon?! I participated in the now defunct DC Tri Sprint Distance in 2011. Nations Tri is adding a sprint distance to their race weekend and I would like a quasi apples to apples comparison to see how much I’ve improved in four years.

I will probably do another #FF for Maryland and Virginia respectively. These lists will be good resources to use as I like to balance my running schedule with local and non-local races.
Do you have any DC races on your running bucket list? (ex. Nike, CB, MCM, DCRR?)
Are any of these races on your bucket list?
Have you started planning for 2015?
