Charleston Half Training – 12/15-12/21 -Week 7

December 22, 2014

Happy Winter Solstice + 1 Day! So glad that the days will gradually get longer.  I am ready for more sunlight.

Monday 12/15 – 3.5 miles + 60 minutes personal training + 60 minutes barre

Tuesday 12/16 – 1 mile

Wednesday 12/17  1 mile

Thursday 12/18 – 1 mile

Friday 12/19 – 1 mile

Saturday 12/20 Surf ‘N’ Santa 5 Miler

Sunday 12/21 – 60 minutes barre

Total: 12.5 miles

In terms of mileage and workouts this week was much lighter than last week. Based on the recommendation of my trainer I gave my foot another week of rest from running and the elliptical (even though it never gave me pain).  All my mileage through Friday was from walking.

On Saturday I had my first run in a week – 5 easy miles at the Surf ‘N’ Santa 5 Miler (soooo much fun by the way…recap coming tomorrow).

The course was flat and my foot felt fine (it usually flared up during hills or weight shifts).  I did some jumping exercises that shifted my weight onto my right foot and it didn’t hurt, so that was a good sign.  I decided to skip my 10 mile long run and resume long runs next weekend as long as the foot is okay.

On Wednesday I had a little bakefest with my friend Jenn.  Here is her chocolate peppermint pretzel marshmallow fudge… it is SO good.

On Sunday I met up with my friends from b-school and had brunch at Macon followed by an afternoon barre class.  Below was their take on the eggs benedict…not traditional…but still tasty.

I also finished decorating my tree and almost done with my holiday cards.

Today I am linking up with Tara at Running n’ Reading for her Weekend Update.

How was your weekend?

What have you been baking lately?
