And another training week comes to a close. Here is how my week went:
Monday 11/16 – Rest day + stretching/foam rolling
Tuesday 11/17 – Rest day + stretching/foam rolling
Wednesday 11/18 – Rest day + stretching/foam rolling
Thursday 11/19 – Rest day + stretching/foam rolling
Friday 11/20 – Rest day + stretching/foam rolling
Saturday 11/21 – Harbor Lights 5K + volunteering
Sunday 11/22 – Harbor Lights Half Marathon + 75 minutes yoga
Total: 16.2 miles
I had more rest days/stretching than originally planned, but I think my body needed it. The fitness highlight of the week was the Inaugural Harbor Lights 5K and Half Marathon in Norfolk, VA. Because I participated in both distances (the Get Lit Challenge) I ran a total of 16.2 miles this weekend (total for the week) and 4.7 miles more than last week. This week I plan on resuming my “normal” workout schedule – looking forward to this!
This week I had a chance to meet Sharon of Run Hike Play for lunch. She was in DC for the week so it was nice to catch up with her since meeting at the Wineglass Half Marathon! I also got to meet her famous kiddos!
When I attended the ClassPass DC Launch in October I was given a Home Chef voucher in the goodie bag. It has a similar operating model as Blue Apron and I received my first delivery of meatballs and polenta this past Thursday. I plan on making the recipe this week and will post about my experience in the next couple of weeks.
And as you know I was in Norfolk this past weekend. Another pretty sunrise!
While we were there we headed to the Jollibee in Virginia Beach. Jollibee is a Philippine fast food restaurant and it was my first time there. It is good/bad thing that they are not in the DC area because it was yummy. Of course I had to dance with the bee!
Oh I also ran a 5K and half this weekend (recaps coming Tuesday and Wednesday).
Have you ever tried any food delivery service?
Have you ever visited the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area?
