Charleston Half Training – 1/12-1/18 – Week 11

January 19, 2015

Less than 18 hours ago I was sitting outside in a rocking chair enjoying this view and the sunshine (63°F).  This morning I will be flying from CHS -> DCA and heading straight to the office (no MLK holiday for this girl).

Wednesday 1/14  Rest day

Thursday 1/15 – 1.5 miles + 10 minutes stairclimber + 60 minutes personal training

Friday 1/16 – Rest day

Saturday 1/17 Charleston Half Marathon

Sunday 1/18 – 7.5 miles walking

Total: 22.1 miles

This week was pretty busy work-wise, so training took a hit.  A couple of weeks ago my trainer introduced me to the stairclimber (I haven’t used one since college) – it kicked my butt and left me sore for days.  We started with a five minute pyramid interval and it was so hard at first! I worked my way up to 10 minutes this week and hope to get to 30 minutes nonstop.  Of course the fitness highlight of the week was running (and walking…more on that tomorrow) the Charleston Half Marathon.  Below is a pic nearing mile 3.

Had to share my medal shot of course! Congrats to Amy and Abby – they also ran the half!

I had a couple social and culinary highlights of the week.  In addition to traveling with my friends Emily and Gerri, my friend Nathasha was also running the half and staying across from our hotel.  We did ALOT of walking and eating – Charleston has an amazing restaurant scene.

Another highlight of the week was Wednes-date with Cliff. We had a vegan pizza and it was delicious! The “pepperoni” was quite tasty.

Today I am linking up with Tara at Running n’ Reading for her Weekend Update.

Are you a fan of the stairmaster? Have any good workouts?

Did you have a favorite eat from this week?
