Weekly Workout/Training in Review 5/8-5/14

Hola hola! Last week was a good week, even though I did not fit in all my runs in (I was aiming for 3, ran 2).  I'm going to be stricter about my workouts in the next few weeks. I'm publishing this a little late, so I'll link up with everyone next week.   Monday 5/8 - Rest Day  Sore from the weekend. Particularly my calves/shins.  Tuesday 5/9 - Rest Day  Same as above.  Wednesday 5/10 - Rest Day  This…

Weekly Workout/Training in Review 5/1-5/7

Hello Monday! It was much cooler here in DC, so it made running more enjoyable this weekend :) Before I start with my recap, congrats to Caitlin on finishing her first sprint triathlon at Monticelloman!  Monday 5/1 - Rest Day  Tuesday 5/2 - Rest Day  Still SUPER sore from the North Face Endurance Relay, took another rest day.  Wednesday 5/3 - 2 miles | 13:42 min/mile  It was a beautiful day for a run! I met a few co-workers after work for run club in Alexandria.  I ran 2…

Weekly Workout/Training in Review 4/24-4/30

Hello! I am back in DC after a quick trip to the Aloha State.  Cliff had a work trip, so I tagged along and teleworked for the week (air mileage points for the win).  I worked my same east coast hours, which meant I was up from 2:30AM-11:00AM Hawaiian Time.  That left me a half a day to explore Waikiki/Honolulu (I usually went to bed around 7:00PM-8:00PM).  I'm writing this post a little late, so I missed the linkups. I'll rejoin them next…

Weekly Workout/Training in Review 4/17-4/23

Happy Monday! First, congrats to my high school elementary school buddy Tricia on her BQ at the Coastal Delaware Marathon! Second, congrats to Jackie on her win at the GW Parkway Classic 5K.  They are both a great source of motivation.  Speaking of inspiring, did anyone watch the London Marathon this past weekend?  Monday 4/17 - Rest Day  Not running related, but have you guys ever used Amazon Locker? I have one close to work so I send packages here to avoid package theft #citylife.…

Weekly Workout/Training in Review 4/10-4/16

Hi everyone! I am back with my Weekly Workout/Training in Review posts now that my foot is finally feeling better and have been able to run consistently the past couple of weeks.  January-March brought a cold, an achy foot (re-injured it in Bermuda - more on that in my Bermuda recap post), and walking pneumonia (had no idea that existed).  I'm ready to get back at it, but it feels like I am starting all over again (I'm about 3-4 minutes/mile slower from a…

Guess Who’s Back, Back Again

Jennifer's back, tell a friend! Sorry for the corniness I couldn't resist a little Eminem. I can't believe I went (blogger) MIA! As most of you know, I started a new job in April. I thought a mini blogging hiatus may occur (mini as in a couple weeks) so I could acclimate to the new role and organization.  Well a couple weeks turned into a month, which turned into a couple months, and now five months. Don't worry, I'm not working 24/7, I just got…

Covered Bridges Half Training Week 2-3/28-4/3

Woah, how is it April already?! This week was filled with loads of runs and fun.  Image: Covered Bridges Half Marathon  One of the highlights....if you click on the left picture I made the Meb Selfie!    Great turn out to my pre @CUCB appearance @PRRunning. Stayed an extra hour to meet everyone after the Q&A. Thanks! pic.twitter.com/nT41g8h4qi — meb keflezighi (@runmeb) April 1, 2016 Monday 3/28 - 5 miles | 12:40 min/mile + 6 x 100 meter strides Downtown DC…

Covered Bridges Half Training Week 1-3/21-3/27

Made it outside this week! I do have the occasional cough, but it so nice not to be sick.  This June I will be running the Covered Bridges Half Marathon in Vermont.  The Berlin Marathon is now six months away (what?!) so this race will be a nice way to assess my overall fitness as marathon training picks up.   Image: Covered Bridges Half Marathon  Monday 3/21 - 5 miles | 12:43 min/mile My usual downtown route at an average 12:43 min/mile…

Weekly Workout/Training in Review 3/14-3/20

This past week was spent recovering from my chest cold (the one that keeps you up all night). The plus side - I think I got some major ab work from the coughing (I kid I kid).  The negative side - zero running this week, I even got winded from walking! The highlight of the week was celebrating my birthday with my family and Cliff. Thank you for all your messages and texts :)  Thankfully I am feeling much better and will…

Gate River Run 15K Training Week 11 – 3/7-3/13

And just like that the Gate River Run 15K came and went. Good news or bad news first? Good news, I finished and had a great time visiting my friends in Jacksonville.  Bad news, I came down with a cough on Friday and it made it difficult to run (breath) on Saturday.  I'll detail more in my recap.  I've been battling the cough this week (which has kept me up during the nights), hence the later than usual post.  I…
