NYC Marathon Training 10/13-10/19 – Week 18

October 20, 2014

October 20, 2014

And another week of training is complete.  Fall is flying by! This week I received my bib and corral information for the marathon – this was pretty exciting! Anyone starting with me? Sorry, no bib number listed yet.. trying to prevent the bib-crashing.

Monday 10/13 – 1 mile + 60 minutes barre

Tuesday 10/14 – 2 miles + 60 minutes personal training

Wednesday 10/15 – 60 minutes barre

Thursday 10/16 – 1 mile + 60 minutes yogalates + 60 minutes personal training

Friday 10/17 – 3 miles

Saturday 10/18 – Rest day

Sunday 10/19 – 10 miles + 60 minutes detox yoga

Total: 17 miles

Running wise, mileage is decreasing, yayyy.  Like last week, I incorporated more yoga/barre classes into my schedule.  It has been fun trying out new studios through ClassPass. I also tried Picky Bars and Honey Stingers and they were both delicious (so glad Courtney, Mar and Cynthia had that Friday Five theme two weeks ago – definitely got some great suggestions).

With mileage decreasing (a few less hours running during the weekends) I was able to catch up with a number of friends this weekend.  First was brunch at Farmers, Fishers and Bakers – soooo good!

My friends had a little gathering for some cupcakes and cocktails – we were able to decorate our cupcakes.

And of course I stocked up on Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Greek Yogurt.  They had been sold out my last three visits, so I made sure to stock up. I did get a laugh out of the cashier.

I forgot to mention this in last week’s training recap, but I had a DNS for the B.A.A Half Marathon – which means I did not complete the B.A.A Distance Medley.  With my 20 miler, I thought it was best to stay in town vs. traveling to Boston for the weekend (plus I was in Corning the previous week).  Hopefully I’ll complete the half one day.

How was your weekend?

Eat anything delicious?
