A couple of weeks ago the Marine Corps opened their lottery for the 40th running of the marathon (it is going to be special, for sure), and I submitted my name. I’ve already entered the Chicago Marathon lottery (selection status will be emailed on April 28, 2015).
Today the MCM announced our selection status and I was sent this email:
Womp womp. While I wait for Chicago, I’ll start looking into other fall marathons, just in case (or explore the bib transfer process).

March 25, 2015Sorry to hear that you didn’t get into MCM. With it being the 40th anniversary, I can only imagine how many more people than usual entered the lottery. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that you’ll get into Chicago, or that you’ll find a bib through the bib transfer.
