Tasty Thursday – Georgian Edition!

August 7, 2014

My internet connection has been spotty so I thought I would share some of the delicious dishes I tried during my visit to the Republic of Georgia.  You may recall seeing pictures of some of the Turkish food I ate a couple weeks ago.

I will resume my Turkish/Georgian vacation recap next week. The Republic of Georgia is located in the Caucasus; it is bordered by Russia, Turkey, Armenia, and Azerbaijan.

Khachapuri, oooh so yummy. It is a traditional dish of cheese filled bread.  Different regions have their take on this dish. I was able to try the Imeretian and Adjarian versions.  image

Meat filled soup dumpings.  If you ever had the Chinese soup dumplings, Xiao Long Bao, its like those but bigger!

A yummy eggplant dip.

Churchkhela – walnuts dipped in grape or fruit juices. Unfortunately I did not try any of them.

Some Georgian red wine (Georgia also has a wine country) and sparkling water.  How cute is the label?

Have you ever tried any of these dishes?

Are you a dumpling fan?
