Hope everyone had a nice Labor Day weekend.
Yesterday we were driving back to DC from NY so I moved this usual Monday post to Tuesday. Before I get to the weekend stuff, week 10 of training:
Monday 8/25– Rest day (still sore from the 16 miler)
Tuesday 8/26 – 60 minutes personal training + 2 miles
Wednesday 8/27 – Errands
Thursday 8/28 – Packing + errands
Friday 8/29 – Out of town for Patty + James’ wedding
Saturday 8/30 -Out of town for Patty + James’ wedding
Sunday 8/31 -Out of town for Patty + James’ wedding
Total: 2 miles
Ouch…. 2 miles.. about 20 miles short for the week. This was a cut back week (12 mile long run) and I’ll have a 12-14 miler this weekend. This week was packed – between work and getting ready for this weekend I was unable to fit in shorter runs. Fortunately all my weekends leading to November will be dedicated to running. All of my out of town trips will involve at least running 13.1 miles.
The fitness highlight of this week was my personal training session on Tuesday. Nicole went to the IDEA World Fitness Convention and introduced me to Trigger Point foam roller exercises – they felt great! Especially on the sore legs. Now on to Labor Day weekend.
This past weekend we celebrated the wedding of Patty and James. We drove up Friday morning because of the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner later that day. The next morning (early) the bridal party headed to midtown for our appointments at drybar. It was fun! I’ve never gone there and I liked how my blowout turned out.
Drybar was a little behind schedule, but by the time we got back to the hotel and changed we were back on track. Here we are with the beautiful bride! You may remember Ali – I just visited her in Turkey/Georgia.
Pretty table setting. It was a beautiful night, loads of dancing, and yummy food/cake (of course).
Speaking of food… after the wedding we stayed in NYC for a night. Unfortunately we were wiped and it was raining pretty much the entire afternoon. I tried my first NY pizza and we went to Yakitori Taisho for dinner – it was delicious!
Overall it was a fun (and quick) weekend – so glad I had a chance to spend it with some of my favorite people!
How did you spend your labor day weekend?
Have you gone to drybar before?
