Hello Friday! Amazing how the weather has gone from this….

As per usual, today I am linking up with Mar, Courtney, and Cynthia. In eight days I will be running my first race of the Dolphin Challenge (8K and Half Marathon).  I thought it would be fun to share Five Things Shamrock Weekend.

1. Shamrock Marathon Mobile App

Available for both iOS and Android mobile devices, participants can â€śaccess all of their race day FAQ’s, weekend schedule, results, and much more, and receive live race updates and announcements right to their mobile device.”

2. Runner Tracking

In addition, Runner Tracking is available for those following their friends and family.

3. Meet Bart Yasso

From the Shamrock Facebook page,

  • “On Friday, March 20th at 5PM and Saturday, March 21st at 4PM Bart will be at the Virginia Beach Convention Center for the Yuengling Shamrock Marathon Weekend Speaker Series to share lessons, wisdom, and insights learned from running in more than 1,500 races near and far.”
  • “Can’t make the Speaker Series? Stop by the J&A Racing booths at the Expo on Saturday, March 21st between 2-4 and meet Bart and have your photo taken with him. Walgreens will be on site to take the photos and print them out for you!”
  • “Also, join us on Twitter @Shamrockon on Saturday, March 21st at Noon when Bart takes over our Twitter”

4. The Bling and Swag

J&A does not disappoint when it comes to race bling and swag.  I know some people like to be surprised, so I have not posted pictures of the medals and post race swag.

5. Social Media Green Room

Connect using the hashtag #SHAMROCKON15 ….it has been great following this hashtag as runners trained for Shamrock…looking forward to more this weekend.

I’ll be volunteering at J&A booth following the 8K (at the expo).  Swing by if you are around! Good luck to all runners!

Disclosure: As a J&A Ambassador I received a complimentary race entry.  All thoughts and opinions on the blog are my own.

Will you be running Shamrock next weekend? If so, which race(s)?

Which spring race are you most excited about?

Maybe next year we can both do Shamrock and I’ll join you for Pittsburgh Running weekend!

NYC had a nice running app, fun when races are mobile friendly (great for spectators/family/friends). Hope to run a J&A race with you in the future.

It is so convenient and as a runner I like checking my results right away haha. The RNR live results was pretty good today.

Me too! I am definitely taking a half day now, so I’ll get in earlier on Friday. See you soon!

    1. I’m so excited for you, Jenny; sounds like there will be lots of great things going on, and I’m delighted they will have runner tracking for you! This is going to be fun to read about since, obviously, I’m not participating; you always have great race recaps, and I can’t wait! Hope you are planning a great weekend and make sure you get some rest before next week – woo hoo!!

I agree! My friend/bf made use of the NYC app this past fall. Hope you get to make it to a J&A race one day 🙂 Have a good weekend Lisa.

It felt great! I looked up the date for the Iron Girl Columbia and it is a week before the Quantico Tri. If it wasn’t, I def would have signed up.

Congrats on the PR! Very impressed by those who can PR in the heat/humidity. The Gate River Run 15K sounds like it would be a fun race.

Looking forward to the weekend. I’ve been thinking about our local summer series here after reading about yours.
